About Color Mixer
Color Mixer blends multiple colors by weight and shows the palette, digital color mixer results, and paint color mixer result at once.
Digital color mixer: The digital color mixer shows each color space as its own color mixer card, which is useful for screen design, UI previews, and color-system checks. Paint color mixer: The paint color mixer approximates pigment-style subtractive mixing, so it can look closer to physical paint than RGB interpolation.
Compare the RGB / LRGB / HSL / LAB / LCH / OKLAB color mixer cards for digital algorithms, then check the paint color mixer for a subtractive pigment-style result.
How to use
- Pick colors with the color picker or enter a 6-digit HEX (#RRGGBB).
- Adjust each weight slider; the bar shows the normalized percentages.
- Add or remove colors as needed (at least two colors remain).
- Click any square result swatch or HEX/RGB/HSL row to copy the value.
FAQ
Why does the mix look different from what I expect?
Digital color mixer cards and the paint color mixer use different blending math. Compare LRGB / LAB / OKLAB for perceptual mixes, and use paint color mixer for a pigment-style result.
What formats are supported?
Only 6-digit HEX is supported. Invalid input falls back to the last valid color on blur.
Do weights need to add up to 100?
No. The tool normalizes the weights automatically.
Why can’t I delete a color?
To keep a valid mix, at least two colors must remain.
Copy didn’t work. What can I do?
Some browsers block clipboard access. You can still select the value and copy manually.
